I Workout!

Ok, first off. You guys? All of you rock my world!! I never dreamed I'd be at over 200 likes within the first day! I fully expected to sit at about 10 or 20 for a long time. Thank you so much for the love!

I've been doing Jamie Eason's LiveFit program for a couple months now, and I absolutely love it. It took me a few tries to graduate from weeks 1 and 2 since I'm a slacker and kept taking a week or two off and starting over. I'm currently on Phase 1 week 3, and looking forward to Phase 2.

I was so scared of the weight room before because I didn't really know what to do. I was intimidated by it all, and didn't know where to start. LiveFit made it easy to know just what to do! Each workout even has a video you can watch if you don't know what it means. I watched the videos a lot while looking for what I needed the first few weeks. I haven't been following the meal plans or avoiding cardio like I'm supposed to in the first phase, but I'm thrilled with the results I'm seeing! I'm getting stronger too. Today, I did my 3 sets of 12 (girl) push-ups, and felt like I had more in me. This was the first time I'd gotten through all 3 sets of 12! I'd been doing 8-10 per set.

Being a techy nerd, I knew I wanted to keep my workouts on my phone, and I found the perfect app for me after trying several. It's called Jefit, and not only can you add routines, but it also has a timer for between sets, and a little .gif image showing the workout so I no longer have to watch the LiveFit videos when I need a refresher. Best of all, you can download other people's public routines, so I was able to find all the LiveFit ones without me having to manually enter everything.

Since my workouts are on my phone, I couldn't use an armband in the weight room because it would be a huge pain in the butt to get it in and out all the time. I just stuffed it in my sports bra, but I didn't want to do that with my pretty new phone! I Pinterested an armband out of a sock, and that worked ok, but I had to hold my phone with my chin while wriggled it in every time. and the sock was itchy when I moved my arms, and chafed.

I knew I'd seen something at the half expo that would be perfect, but I could not for the life of me remember what it was called. I only had a vague memory of a belt with no zippers. After much asking around, someone pointed me to the Flip Belt. That was it! I ordered it Monday and received it yesterday afternoon since I learned it's a Denver-based company (way to shop locally!).

I tried it at the gym for the first time today, and I LOVE IT! The Flip Belt is exactly what I needed! And looks cute too. I do wish I'd have sized down, though, because I'm between sizes according to the size chart. It wasn't overly big, but I just worry it'll move around on my hips when I run with it. It was very easy to get my phone in and out between sets, and it looks great!
